The Anaheim Police Department Crime Task Force is an eight-person detail consisting of two sergeants and eight investigators. The Crime Task Force is an undercover unit specializing in fugitive apprehension, identifying career criminals and taking them off the street in an attempt to lower the crime rate in Anaheim. The unit also specializes in ground surveillance, cellphone tracking and assisting all Anaheim P.D. investigative details and Orange County law enforcement agencies.

During 2010, the Crime Task Force made 332 felony arrests. This included the apprehension of 18 homicide suspects, 78 assault with a deadly weapon and robbery suspects, 28 burglary suspects and 57 parolee at large suspects. The unit also served numerous probation, parole and search warrants which recovered over $1.7 million worth of stolen property. The unit wrote 330 phone court orders to trace cellphones of numerous felony suspects wanted for the above crimes. The Anaheim Police Department Crime Task Force has had a great impact on decreasing crime in Anaheim and in Orange County as a whole.
